When will you get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update?

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS is making its way out to devices across Europe with certain devices already seeing the update. So if you are wondering when you will get the Android M update we take a look at the likely update roll out across devices.

Google and Nexus Android M update

The main advantage of getting yourself a Nexus phone is that you will be at the front of the queue when the updates are released. The Nexus 5X and Google Nexus 6P come with the latest Android M on board and the update has now been released for the Nexus 5,6,7, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.

The Samsung Android updates have been quick to materialise in the past but the pace seems slower when it comes to Android M. The Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung S6 Edge+ will be the first devices to get the update this month with the S6 and S6 Edge receiving the update in January and the Note 4 and Note Edge later in February.

Sony Xperia Android update

The Sony Xperia range will be updated to Android M with the exception of the Sony Xperia Z1 which will lose out on Android 6.0. There is no firm date on when the update will come to Sony devices but the company has released details of what the update will bring which includes new keyboards and Tap to Wake so we can confirm it’s in the works.

HTC has confirmed that the One M9 and the HTC One M8 will get the Marshmallow update before the end of 2015 with remaining models such as the One M9+ Desire 820 etc to follow next year.

LG Marshmallow Update

LG G4C review

LG is the first manufacturer to get the update with many LG G4 users enjoying Android 6.0 across Europe and if you have a G4 you can expect the update soon.

The update is going to give LG users new Do Not Disturb modes and Doze mode and the anticipated LG G4 Pro is expected to launch with Android 6.0 already on board.

Other manufacturers such as Motorola are expected to be rolling out the update in due course although some, such as Huawei, usually take much longer than the others to prepare the updates for their devices so if you have a Huawei you could be in for a long wait.
