Upcoming Tablets of 2015

2015 looks set to deliver us plenty of exciting new tablets and here we take a look at what we are likely to see this year in the world of tablets.

Nokia N1

Nokia has made the N1 official and what we have seen so far seems to point to good things. A standout feature is the Nokia Z Launcher that will learn your habits to adapt the homescreen to where you are. This feature allows you to write a letter on the screen to find the app you want so you can get to what you want quickly.

The Nokia N1 has a 7.9nch screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 and measures at just 6.9mm thick. The chassis is made from aluminium with a satin finish and under the hood there is a quad-core processor and Android 4.4. This tablet is also packing 90dB speakers an 8-megapixel camera for taking photos and a front facing 5-megapixel camera.

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet

We expect the MWC 2015 to be the launch pad for the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet so what we know so far is just rumours. The Z4 tab is expected to have a 12.9-inch display with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 and an 8-megapixel snapper.

Most surprising is that it is rumoured to be coming at us with a 2.86GHz processor and a whopping 6GB RAM. This would blow everything else out of the water when it comes to performance so we will live in hope that this materialises.

A large 12,100mAh battery is expected to be included and that should offer plenty of usage time helped along by the latest Android Lollipop operating system, which has the best optimised energy consumption yet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 5

The Tab 5 is expected to land in Summer this year and we should see a choice of 7-inch and 10.1-inch variants. The larger screened model is rumoured to have a 64-bit Snapdragon processor and will run Android Lollipop. The compact model will be packing a quad-core chip and Android KitKat for a smaller price tag.

Apple iPad Pro

The Apple iPad Pro has been the subject of much speculation and rumour with some suggesting it will not actually be released. Should Apple give us this device it is expected to come our way at the end of this year. Some image leaks have shown four built-in speakers and a 12.2-inch or 12.9-inch display making this tablet a movie watchers dream device.

A quad-core processor and 11,000mAh battery are also among the leaked specs as well as a big 128GB memory.

2015 looks like it’s going to deliver plenty of choice when it comes to tablets so if you are thinking of buying one or replacing your current model then one of these could be yours.
