The Nexus 4 Sells Out on Google Play in under an hour

LG Nexus 4

The Google Nexus 4 went on sale on the Google Play store at 8am this morning and by 9am all the stock had sold out. The surprising success could be down to the lower price if buying directly from Google.

The Android handset was sold on Google Play for only £239 for the 8GB model, or £279 if you want 16GB and it seems consumers did want it as the status changed on both models to “coming soon” less than an hour after going on sale.

For that surprisingly low price tag you get a quad-core processor and a 4.7-inch HD display as well as an 8-megapixel camera, NFC and front facing camera for video calls.

O2 has the UK network exclusive at the moment on the Nexus 4 so if you missed out during the rush on Google Play you can get one from them, although not at quite such a low price.

Did you buy the Nexus 4 this morning? Or did you miss out?
