Sony Xperia Z3 release date

The usual form from Sony has been to give us a new flagship model at the annual MWC in February but, unlike other manufacturers, they don’t make us wait a whole year for the next installment instead offering up a new model in September. So we should expect to see the Sony Xperia Z3 specification and pricing confirmed in September 2014 so if you are eagerly awaiting this smartphone you don’t have too long to wait. A compact version is also expected to be released at the same time so there should be an option whatever your preferred form factor.

Sony Xperia Z3 design and specifications

Many images and rumours have been leaked about this latest Sony flagship and so far it looks like the Xperia Z3 will have a metal frame and will sport the distinctive Xperia square design. As the dustproof and waterproof features of the Xperia handsets has been prevalent throughout the range then we should expect the Z3 to be pretty tough too.

The processor is expected to get a boost going up to a 2.5GHz quad-core chip as well as 3GB RAM which should offer up an impressive performance.

Sony Xperia Z3 specifications leaked

The camera is expected to be the same 20.7-megapixel lens as seen on the previous model, but as this has delivered great image results that should satisfy even the most avid mobile photographer.

The display is rumoured to be the same too with a full HD 1080p touchscreen, the main reasons speculated for this has been that Sony will concentrate on delivering a handset that performs well in every aspect rather than jumping on the quad-HD bandwagon.

The Xperia UI will be present and as this is an update we should expect a few new nifty features and Android 4.4 will be included too.

So far pricing isn’t known but as Sony has been consistent with this too it should come in around the same as the previous versions.

If the Sony Xperia Z3 looks a little too big for you, you can opt for the Z3 Compact and you can read all about the expected specifications in this Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Rumours article.
