Sony Xperia Tablet S Problem Suspends Sales

The sale of the Xperia Tablet S has been halted due to a problem with the production process that has resulted in small gaps between the screen and the casing. This fault means that the tablet is not splash resistant as stated and so Sony has made the tough decision to stop production whilst the issue is resolved.

The tablet has only been on sale for approximately a week and Sony have said that 100,000 devices have been shipped and customers who have purchased one can return the tablet for a free fix.

Due to the relatively small numbers shipped Sony believes the product recall won’t affect profits too much but there is no time indication of when the Tablet S will be in production and shipped out for sale in stores again.

Have you purchased an Xperia Tablet S? Will you return it to get it fixed?
