Samsung Gear S2 goes official


The Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 has been a subject of speculation and numerous information leaks over the last couple of months and now Samsung has decided to put the rumours to be. Now Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Gear 2 let’s see what we can expect from them.

The smartwatch will be available in two variants, the Gear S2 and the Galaxy Gear S2 Classic. The Samsung Gear S2 will come in either a dark grey case with black silicon band or silver watch with white silicon wrist band. The S2 Classic will have a black case and matching black leather band.

The screen has a circular design that is slim and sleek and the bands can be changed for those that like to switch up the look of their wearables.


The Gear S2 smartwatch measures 42.3 x 49.8 x 11.4mm and weighs in at just 47 grams while the S2 Classic has dimensions of 39.9 x 43.6 x 11.4mm and a weight of 42 grams.


Samsung Gear S2 Features


The Gear S2 has a 1.2-inch round display with a fully rotating bezel and a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels at 302ppi. The device has an IP68 certification making it water resistant and the battery is rated to give up to 2-3 days of power with regular usage. Connectivity wise the smartwatch offers Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth and there will also be a 3G version on offer.


Gear S2 classic


The Gear S2 has the Tizen OS platform on board and 4GB of on board memory along with a 1GHz dual-core processor.


Samsung has made the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic official ahead of the IFA 2015 in Berlin and for attendees this will be the venue to get to grips with this latest smartwatch and try out its varied features.
