Samsung Galaxy S3 Screen to Rival iPhone Retina Display

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has to be one of the most talked about Android phones out there and the rumour mill is on fire with everyone speculating what the phone will be like.

The Galaxy S and Galaxy SII have been hugely popular and these were the only handsets that seemed to truly stack up against the iPhone from Apple and the latest phone is set to compete with the highly anticipated iPhone 5.

So what’s the latest news on Samsung’s S3? The latest rumour is hinting that the S3 screen will rival the Retina display Apple uses on its iPhones.

A supply chain source has revealed the Samsung Galaxy S3 will have a 4.6-inch AMOLED HD+ screen with a pixel density of 319ppi, the iPhone 4S has a screen pixel density of 330ppi. AMOLED displays are becoming popular in new handsets due to the better performance and reduced power consumption as well as the slim lightweight construction.

As with all these rumors nothing is confirmed until Samsung give us all the details at the official launch of the product, but as the Galaxy S3 is pegged to be an “iPhone slayer” it’s a pretty safe bet the screen will be as impressive as the Apple offering.
