The Galaxy A series has been used as a proving ground for new smartphone technology. The manufacturer likes to try out new things on these handsets to test the water and decide whether to take them to the flagship models. The new Samsung Galaxy A80 has been given a unique camera module.

The Galaxy A80 has a 48-megapixel camera lens with an f/2.0 aperture. The camera module can be used as the rear camera or the selfie camera. To do this, there is a pop-up module that moves up when you select the selfie camera. The rear camera lens then rotates to become the front-facing camera.
That means you get the same amazing quality photo and video whether shooting from the front or back.

Super Steady mode for video recording which was features on the Galaxy S10 is included. That’s not all, you also get a second 8-megapixel lens for ultra-wide shots and a 3D ToF sensor for Live Focus.

So you get a triple lens high-resolution camera whatever side you shoot from.

As the camera lenses pop-up and rotate from the rear of the camera you get an all-screen device. The Samsung Galaxy A80 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2400 resolution.

The fingerprint sensor is built into the display and the 3.700mAH battery includes 25W Super Fast Charging.

The phone is available in Black, Gold or White and is currently being shipped with 8GB RAM and 128GB of memory. No other memory variants have been announced so far and there is no expanding that memory as Samsung has decided not to add a microSD slot.

Android 9 is on board and the new Samsung One UI is included too.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 goes on sale on May 29th so make a note if you fancy getting your hands on one.
