Nokia Lumia 510 Officially Announced

The Nokia Lumia 510 is now official and whilst much of the specification is as we expected for a budget Windows phone the fact that this phone has Windows 7.5 on board rather than the latest Windows 8 will come as a surprise to some.

The budget Lumia range from Nokia will sport Windows 7.5 instead and the likely reason is to ensure lower prices as the hardware needed is a less advanced

So what does the Nokia Lumia 510 offer? Well the specification confirms a 4-inch display, 5-megapixel camera and 4GB of internal memory as well as an 1800MHz processor and 7GB free SkyDrive space. The Windows OS brings all the popular features such as People Hub, Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer 9 to the phone as well as the familiar Live Tiles homescreen.

The camera function can be further increased if you download the Camera Extras app which has digital lens functionality, Nokia Drive, Nokia Transport and Nokia Maps.

Following on with the Lumia trend the 510 will be released in a number of bright colours including red, cyan and yellow. There is no confirmation on when this will be available in the UK but with a general release date in November is should be hitting our shelves shortly after that.
