Nokia Lumia 1020 Officially Revealed

Nokia Lumia 1020

The Nokia event held in New York gave us all the official details of the latest super camera phone the Nokia Lumia 1020 and here we take a closer look at this new flagship model from Nokia.

The main topic of conversation at the event about the Nokia Lumia 1020 was all about the camera features and as this is the replacement for the PureView 808 the camera specification needed to deliver big things.

The 41-megapixel sensor made with Carl Zeiss Optics includes a Xenon and LED flash so you get great shots in low light and the lens captures images in both 5MP and 40MP resolutions at the same time. The Nokia PureView 808 is able to capture lower and higher resolution images but the resolution had to be selected as it couldn’t take both at the same time.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 does a similar thing to the HTC One when taking the 5MP image in that is Super samples the photo by overlaying multiple pixels into a single pixel slot so you get a Super Pixel (HTC chose to call their version an Ultra Pixel).

The Lumia 1020 will also include the Smart Camera and Pro Camera apps, these let you tinker with pretty much every setting on the camera you can think of including ISO, White Balance and much more which will please anyone with advanced camera knowledge.

Video recording on the camera can be in either 1080p or 720p and includes lossless zoom for getting closer to the action without losing clarity.

Aside from the camera specifications the Nokia Lumia 1020 will be packing a dual-core 1.5 processor, the same one that is in the Nokia Lumia 925, and 2GB RAM as well as 32GB of on board memory.

The 4.5-inch Clear Black display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and is sensitive enough to be used when wearing gloves.

The phone is going to be released in Yellow, white and Blue and is going on sale in the USA from July 26th with an expected UK landing date a few weeks after.
