Nokia Asha 308 & Asha 309 Affordable Smartphones Announced

Nokia has announced two new handsets in the Asha range, the Asha 308 and Asha 309 are designed for those that want a smartphone with low running costs.

The phones include an updated Nokia Xpress Browser for 90% more efficient browsing and faster access to web applications when compared to standard browsers.

These latest additions to the Asha range are the most affordable capacitive touchscreen phones from Nokia to date and although they may not be the most advanced phones they are perfect for a first smartphone.

The phones have 3-inch capacitive displays and each include an expandable memory up to 32GB, multiple homescreens and stereo radio. The Nokia Asha 309 is a single SIM phone with Wi-Fi and the Asha 308 is a dual-SIM phone with the Easy Swap technology so there is no need to switch the phone off to swap between SIM cards.

Also on board is video streaming through the browser, a first for the Asha touch range of phones, along with dedicated Facebook and Twitter apps.

The phones will be hitting the shelves later this year and with pricing looking to as low as $99 SIM free these should be popular with younger users as well as first time smartphone users.
