Motorola Wilder-Tough Little Budget Phone

The Motorola Wilder has been officially announced and although this is a basic feature phone the unique design and rugged casing will certainly be appealing to those looking for a tough budget phone. The handset features a ruggedised outer casing that is splash and dust resistant making it a great choice if you love the outdoors or extreme sports.

The unusual dual screen setup has a small 0.7-inch display sat below the main 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen and this screen shows incoming call and message notifications (similar to the external screens on flip phones). Software on board includes an Opera web browser, social network integration and an email client whilst the 2-megapixel camera on the back can capture both photos and video clips.

A multimedia player and FM radio are included for keeping you entertained and there is a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting your own favourite headsets. There is no high speed web browsing so viewing your favourite sites may be a little slow however the tiny price tag should make up for any shortcomings.

This is a basic phone so it will never be at the top of the wishlist for those that want a top spec smartphone, however If you take part in any sports or outdoor activities this is a great second phone. You can take this tough little cookie with you and leave the delicate smartphone at home.
