The Moto E4 Plus has a 5.5-inch HD display that has 395 nits of brightness making it great for using outside. The display is covered with 2.5D glass and the rounded edges lead to the smooth metal back.

The phone is a little hefty weighing in at 198g and measuring 9.55mm thick but this is due to the massive capacity battery so if you want more usage time you have to concede to more weight and bulk.

The camera on the back sits indented offering protection to the lens and the device is protected with a water repellent nano coating to protect against rain showers or splashes.

Moto E4 Plus Features

The latest Android 7.1 is on board so you get the latest advances from Google including the new feature of being able to respond to notifications from the notification panel when you expand it. Split screen is also on board so you can run two apps side by side.

Night Mode will use warmer colours to avoid eye strain and the Moto app makes one-handed use of the easier.

There is a fingerprint reader on the phone and this works really well as it is built into the home button. The reader is quick and accurate and it can be used for navigation on the screen instead of the virtual navigation bar, freeing up more screen space.

There is a quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM so the phone handles multitasking well and the two-in-one 84dB speaker delivers impressive audio.

The one big thing that stands out on the E4 Plus is the 5,000mAh battery, yep 5,000mAh. That easily delivers up to two days of mixed usage between charges and you get a whopping 510 hours of standby time from that huge power pack. Motorola has included a 10W charger in the box, this rapid charger gives you hours of use from minutes of charging time.
