Micromax Canvas Selfie

The rise of the selfie has seen a whole slew of phones with dedicated features to make sure those pics you have to share turn out better than ever. One of these selfie-themed phones has now been released by the Indian smartphone maker Micromax.

The Micromax Canvas Selfie smartphone boasts an impressive 13-megapixel front facing camera and an LED flash on the front to give you the best light for your selfie.

Canvas Selfie Specifications

Apart from the high-end front camera the Micromax Canvas Selfie includes a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable on board memory. The 4.7-inch 720p display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 so it should stand up to some pretty tough knocks.

The phone will ship with Android 4.4 with a possible upgrade to Lollipop at some point later.

The phone has a 2,300mAh battery so while it may not be the best battery pack out there it will still provide a decent performance.

The main focus of the Canvas Selfie, as you would imagine from the name, is to deliver the best possible selfie. With this in mind Micromax have added a number of features to give you the perfect shot such as face slimming and eye enhancement on captured photos.
The Micromax Canvas Selfie could be seen as a direct competitor to the HTC Desire Eye, although due to the lack of presence for Micromax in the UK market it is more likely that this smartphone will be staying on the Indian market rather than make an appearance here.

Should the phone make a big impact over there perhaps Micromax may venture into the European smartphone market so who knows you may be able to choose this phone instead of the HTC Desire Eye after all.
