Lucky 7? A summary of new handsets due to run the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 OS.

Yesterday was a hive of activity in the mobile news arena with the official launch of the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 operating system. The exciting launch also revealed a confirmation of new handsets set to hit the market pre-Christmas and with which networks.

The Samsung Omnia 7, pictured left, will be available on Three, O2, Orange and T-mobile. The main features comprise of Xbox Live & Zune multimedia capabilities, enhanced photo features and a super-AMOLED touchscreen display.

The HTC HD7 is confirmed to head O2s’ way and boasts a handy kickstand for handsfree operation and enjoying HD-video (720p). The HD7 also boasts surround sound speakers for the ultimate audio experience.

The HTC 7 Mozart will launch with Orange and T-Mobile. A high-end 8-megapixel camera with xenon flash heads up the feature list along with HD-video (720p) and a virtual sound system.

The LG Optimus 7 will be available through Orange and again has HD-video (720p) along with voice-to-text and enhanced search functions.

There’s no confirmation of handsets set for Vodafone yet but as soon news is released we will let you know.
