Latest Huawei Mate 20 Pro leak reveals all specs

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro official release is almost upon us and, as usual, this means it has become the subject of many leaks and rumours. The latest Huawei Mate 20 Pro leak gives us everything we need to know, meaning there should be no surprises at the official event.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro specs

The various rumours have revealed just about every detail about the latest flagship from Huawei. The Mate 20 Pro will have a 6.39-inch display with a 1440 x 3120 resolution and a fingerprint sensor built-in. There are a few similarities to the iPhone features on this device. There is a notch at the top of the screen that houses the sensors and the front camera, said to be a 24-megapixel selfie lens. It is also been suggested that there is an infrared laser built into this notch. This uses Vertical Surface Emitting Laser technology to map the face for facial recognition and device unlock.

The main camera is rumoured to be a 40-megapixel lens with a f/1.8 aperture. That’s not all, there is also a 20-megapixel telephoto lens and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens too. These cameras should produce some of the best photography results out there. The main lens uses Light Fusion to combine four pixels into one for even better image quality. Two NPU’s (Neural Processing Units) are also on board to work with the cameras and recognise what you are taking shots of and adjust settings accordingly.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro processor and memory

The new Kirin 980 octa-core processor made by Huawei themselves is on board. This has been clocked at 2.6GHz and the phone will have either 6GB or 8GB RAM. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro will be sold in three different memory variants from 128GB up to 512GB. There will also be support for Nano-Memory cards, rather than the traditional MicroSD. These cards are sold by Huawei and will be available in different capacities up to 256GB.

Other features include a big 4,200mAh battery and IP68 certification for water resistance.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro price

All of this top-end technology will come at a high price. The phone will ship with Android 9 and the latest Huawei EMUI 9. The UK selling price is expected to be around £899 for a 6GB RAM, 128GB model.

The phone will be available in black, blue, green and twilight colours.

The official launch date of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is tomorrow so we will have to see if there is anything else to learn about this device.
