Kazam may not be a name you are too familiar with but this relatively new manufacturer want to make big changes to the mobile industry and aim to deliver innovative products that shake up the market. Their latest release, the Kazam Tornado 348 is the world’s slimmest smartphone and here we take a closer look at this slimline device.

Kazam Tornado 348 Slimmest Smartphone Design

The precision engineering on the Tornado 348 that ensures it is super slim also gives it a beautiful look and feel and even though it is very thin it still feels like a good solid piece of equipment. The screen is surrounded by slim bezels of just 1.8mm and is protected by Gorilla glass making it scratch resistant.

The casing is a uni-body design made from aluminium-magnesium alloy ensuring it is strong and the large 4.8-inch display nestles into the chassis making this phone look great.

Kazam Tornado 348 Features

The Tornado 348 has a 1.7GHz octacore processor under the hood along with 1GB RAM and 16GB of on board memory and the performance of the phone running through apps and various tasks is quick and responsive.

There are some gesture control features which I found quite useful such as the ability to launch an app from the homescreen by drawing a symbol for it anywhere on the screen and unlocking the phone with a double tap on the display.

The micro USB supports OTG so you can attach a keyboard for easier typing if you are not a fan of the on screen system or you can attach an external hard drive to back everything up or use as extra storage space for photos, music and files.

Android 4.4 is on board so you get the usual array of Google apps and the battery delivers a good amount of usage time with 6 hours of talk time and an impressive 360 hours of standby time.

The 8-megapixel camera takes good shots in all sorts of lighting situations and I found the selective focus feature really easy and fun to use allowing me to blur some areas of the shot or choose which object to focus on. Video recording at 30fps resulted in decent end results and the front facing camera with a resolution of 5-megapixels is decent enough for a good selfie.

Verdict

While Kazam may not immediately spring to mind when thinking about your next phone, the Tornado 348 is a fantastic looking phone and the performance backs that up too. This is a great choice for anyone wanting to get their hands on a beautiful phone that delivers a decent performance across all features.
