Apple has revealed their new iPhone models giving us a choice of two models but which one should you choose? Here we see how the two latest Apple phones stack up against each other to help you decide which one to go for.

Both handsets have seen a revamp on design when compared to older models with the latest phones having more rounded corners, slim dimensions and to accommodate the slimmer lines the power button has moved to side of both phones instead of on the top.

Due to the larger screen the Apple iPhone 6 Plus us slightly thicker than the iPhone 6 so if you like your phones small then this could be a deciding factor. That said the difference is minimal so the larger screen will appeal to phablet fans too.

The noticeable difference between the two Apple models is the screen size with the iPhone 6 Plus opting for a phablet size 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or 401ppi. The iPhone 6 has a slightly bigger screen than its predecessor at 4.7-inches and a 326ppi giving you more pixels on a larger area on the 6 Plus.


The iPhone 6 Plus also has the ability to run apps in landscape mode so if you use productivity apps this could be a real bonus.



The iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 both have the same iSight 8-megapixel lens on board giving you great image results on the both phones. The improved f/2.2 aperture will ensures better photos in all conditions and better processing of images should deliver great shots.

The iPhone 6 Plus camera does have optical image stabilisation with the iPhone 6 still featuring the standard image stabilisation on previous models so it will deliver slightly sharper images.

Processor and Battery


The latest handsets from Apple have both been equipped with the latest A8 64-bit processor and M8 processor along with 1GB of RAM so performance-wise there should be no big noticeable difference.


The iPhone 6 delivers 14 hours of talk time, 50 hours of audio playback and up to 11 hours of video playback. The iPhone 6 Plus comes with a bigger capacity battery thanks to the larger dimensions of the phone so you get 24 hours of talk time, 80 hours of audio and 14 hours for enjoying video so if battery is a big concern to you the iPhone 6 Plus could be the one for you.




Both phones are sporting the very latest iOS 8 as well as Touch ID for fingerprint recognition which can now also be used for iStore purchases along with unlocking the phone.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus also both include many Health monitoring features with the Health app and various sensors to help you keep track of fitness goals.



The two latest flagship devices from Apple are very evenly matched with the iPhone 6 Plus giving a slightly better screen and battery life due to its bigger proportions so it will come down to personal choice. Phablet fans will be happy with the iPhone 6 Plus as the big screen and long battery life will give a tablet like experience while the iPhone 6 delivers all the latest from Apple in a more compact package.
