IFA Berlin 2012 Consumer Electronics Show Kicks Off Today

The IFA Berlin 2012 consumer gadget event kicks off today and with tech journalists getting the first look at manufacturers latest offerings the news flying out of this event will be coming thick and fast. This is one of the world’s biggest consumer electronic events and over 1,500 international exhibitors attend to show their latest developments and gadgets.

With some phone makers marketing departments being leakier than a sieve we know a lot about what to expect already.

Sony is expected to confirm the Xperia SL, Xperia T and a new Xperia tablet as well as a Windows 8 11-inch tablet.

Samsung’s press conference is the one that most people are excited about with the anticipated release of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

LG will be announcing their quad-core Optimus G and Asus is unveiling a new tablet range and a possible new Windows 8 slate and with the Transformer Prime becoming popular it will be interesting to see where they take us next.

Noticeably absent is Apple who of course tends to like to have their very own event to tout their wares so that is heading our way next month. HTC will also not be attending instead opting for a London launch and we expect to see the HTC One X+, the follow-on from the One X,  to be the star of the show.

So we expect a slew of new phones and tablets over the next couple of days and we will let you know about the best bits right here.
