The next release from HTC has been the subject of a few leaks and rumours lately, the latest HTC U12 leak shows it will come with a dual camera.

HTC U12 rumours, release date and specifications

There have been a few images leaked and now we get to see a specification list for the HTC U12. The details include a dual camera which will consist of a 12MP and 16MP lens on the back. The front camera will be an 8-megapixel selfie lens and the onboard memory will be a big 256GB.

Android 8.0 will be on board and the phone will get a healthy 6GB RAM which should mean decent performance and multitasking.

The previous leaks nodded towards the Snapdragon 845 chipset and a 5.99-inch QHD display. This latest leak tells us the phone will have IP68 certification and HTC Face Unlock.

Edge Sense 2.0 is going to be on board and the phone will have a 3,420mAh battery.

The specifications promise to deliver an excellent device overall. HTC lost ground on the big competitors in the mobile world over the last few years, the HTC U12 has a monumental task when it comes to standing up against the likes of the Galaxy S9 and the latest iPhone. The dual camera is a good move, although it looks to be lacking wireless charging which could put some off.

The impact of the HTC U12 on the smartphone market will be revealed at the expected launch in April this year.
