The HTC One M8 is now on sale and with this being heralded as one ofthe best phones for 2014 we take a closer look to see what is so good on this latest flagship from HTC.

HTC One M8 Specifications

The all new HTC One M8

The long list of features of the HTC One M8 certainly makes for impressive reading and the first thing you notice is the beautiful design of the phone. The original HTC One was crafted from a single piece of metal and the all new HTC One M8 retains this unibody design giving it a wonderfully expensive feel.

The usual capacitive buttons seen on the top HTC smartphones have been dropped for on-screen navigation so this allows a larger screen to sit within the chassis. The 5-inch HD screen is fantastic for movie viewing or browsing photos and the dual front speakers make for amazing sound when listening to music thanks to the dedicated amplifier and BoomSound.

Under the hood the HTC One M8 is packing a quad-core processor and 2GB RAM so the phone handles multitasking with ease. Android KitKat is on board and the very latest HTC Sense 6 UI offers up lots of new improvements including Extreme Battery Save mode and Motion Launch for gesture control.

There is a front facing camera with a 5-megapixel resolution so you get great quality video calling on this phone and the SD card slot accepts cards up to 128GB so you can have loads of room for all your photos taken on the great camera.

One of the real improvements on the new HTC One M8 is the addition of a Duo camera system, with an Ultrapixel camera and second lens for added depth. These two cameras work in unison to capture amazing detail which allows for lots and lots of post editing tricks to give you unique images.

The Duo Camera setup gives you the ability to add 3D effects to your photos and ufocus allows you to highlight certain areas or blur out parts of the image. HTC Zoe is on board too so you can stitch together images and videos with music for a great way of enjoying your memories.
