HTC Event 19th August – What will be revealed?

HTC has sent out invites to an event to be held on 19th August in New York and this has got us all wondering what will be revealed? Will we see a HTC smartwatch? Is the HTC One M8 about to get a follow-up? Is the rumoured Windows 8 version of the One M8 about to be revealed?

Here we take a look at what it could be that HTC has in store for us on August 19th.

HTC One M8 for Windows

The HTC One M8 has been heralded as a thing of beauty thanks to its fantastic design and all the extra touches that HTC added to its Android OS. There has been many a rumour that HTC would deliver a Windows version of its flagship smartphone and now these rumours get even more credibility after a photo of a Windows M8 has been spotted on US mobile provider Verizon’s website.

It seems the device will be available to buy through Verizon from 21st August making it a likely candidate as the star of the August 19th event.

One Wear Smartwatch

A recent HTC produced video gave us a glimpse of a possible Android Wear smartwatch, although HTC did downplay the video as a bit of fun could this be the device we will see at on August 19th?

There has been a few image leaks of the HTC One Wear, although these have been artist renditions so we don’t really know what to expect. The images do show that the One Wear will go for a round design, much like the Moto 360, and rumour has it that it will go on sale at the end of August.

Nexus 8

The Google I/O event was expected to be the launchpad for the Nexus 8 but as that passed with a no-show and as the HTC name has been associated with the next Nexus phone perhaps this will be the event that gives us the Nexus 8.

The Google Nexus 8 is expected to be sporting an 8.9-inch display, 2GB RAM and the NVIDIA K1 processor.

So whether it’s the Nexus 8, a Windows-toting HTC One M8 or the HTC One Wear Smartwatch remains to be seen. Which one do you hope to see launched at this event? Tell us your thoughts by commenting below or join the conversation on Google+.
