Honor View 20 review

The Honor brand has been giving us some good devices over the past few months and the latest one looks to be the best yet. The Honor View 20 has been launched and it boasts a 48MP rear camera and punch hole display.

Honor View 20 features

The punch hole design is looking to be the way forward and the Honor View 20 uses this new look. The big display measures 6.4-inches and after using the phone for a while you forget the punch hole camera sensor is there. One of the most noticeable things about this new phone is the design on the back. A multi-layer coating has been applied to give the back a v-shape pattern that seems to move as you turn the device. It may not be a useful feature but it does make the phone stand out from other devices.

The Honor View 20 weighs in at 180g and measures 8.1mm thick. There is a fingerprint sensor on the back cover, naturally placed where you would place your finger when holding the phone.

48MP smartphone camera

Fans of mobile photography will love the camera set up on this phone. The Honor View 20 has an impressive 48-megapixel camera on the back. It’s not a dual lens, but it doesn’t really need to be with all the tech that’s packed into it. The lens is a Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 3D TOF (Time-of-flight) sensor.

You can choose between taking 12-megapixel, 48-megapixel or 48-megapixel with AI Ultra Clarity shots. AIS increases brightness and quality when taking night shots and the camera uses 4-in-1 pixels to create brilliant detail in low-light.

Selfies are handled by the front-facing 25-megapixel punch hole camera. AI, lighting effects and beauty mode will ensure you are always looking good in the shot.

Honor View 20 specifications

Under the hood, you get a Kirin 980 processor with models sporting either 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB of onboard memory.

Android 9 and Honor’s own Magic UI are on board and a 4,000mAh battery keeps the phone going for a long time between charges.

This phone will impress smartphone users of all types, whether you want a decent phone for mobile gaming or a great phone for taking photos. Honor has tried to make this device stand out from the crowd and the impressive package and unique design achieve that.
