Google Event Cancelled – CPW jumps the gun with Nexus 4 Pre-order page

The Google event set to take place today has now been cancelled amid concerns over Hurricane Sandy as New York is on alert.

The event was expected to be the launch pad for the next Nexus handset known as the LG Nexus 4 and amidst the various leaks for this handset it was expected to sport the latest Android 4.2 (Key Lime Pie) and we were to get a look at the new OS at this event.

It has not been confirmed when the Android event will be re-scheduled so we shall have to wait for them to let us know when it will be going ahead.

Thanks to the guys at CPW we have had a number of details confirmed for the latest Nexus phone as the product pre-order page appeared on their site, and has now disappeared (oops).

The 4.7-inch screen was confirmed as well as the 8-megapixel camera with 360 degree panoramic shot along with the S4 quad-core processor. The phone was also listed as “free” on tariffs starting from £31 per month with the delivery date stated as 30th October (following todays expected launch).

So Google may have had to cancel the event but we still get the details, CPW has stolen the thunder of the Android maker somewhat but at least they can still have the premier of the 4.2 Key Lime Pie OS when the event does eventually happen.
