Best Fitness Apps

The Winter is certainly not my favourite time of year and this usually makes my mind drift to warmer times and the Summer ahead. Overindulgence over Christmas and lots of lovely comfort food on the cold evenings can often lead to a few extra pounds so now is the time to start thinking about getting in shape for when it’s time to don a bikini and hit the beach. Your smartphone can help you keep motivated and on track to getting ready for Summer and here we take a look at the best Fitness apps to use for getting healthy.

Myfitnesspal – Calorie Counting made easy

myfitness pal app

The Myfitnesspal app will help you track your calorie intake and exercise activities and will give you reports based on the goals you have set for yourself. I use this app a lot as I find actually making a note of everything I eat makes me much more aware of what I am consuming and less likely to overeat.

The StrongLifts 5×5 workout system has been hailed as one of the most effective workouts to help you get stronger, burn fat fast and build muscle. The app works like a personal trainer and muscle coach by guiding you through each of the 45 minute three times a week workouts. The app will tell you how many reps you need to do, how long you should rest between sets and it will monitor and increase the weights you need to use to achieve your targets.
