BBC Launches Live Sports Streaming over 3G

If you love Sport and want to keep up with the latest  sports events the BBC now lets you watch live action on your mobile phone.

The BBC has been testing live streaming during the games of Euro 2012 and after its success they are now offering mobile streams on demand. Highlights from past games can also be viewed over 3G and Wi-Fi by either accessing the existing BBC Sport website or the new mobile-optimised site on Android or iOS devices.

The new BBC Sport site for mobiles gives the latest news, live scores and results and the new on demand live streaming all of which can be enjoyed on your mobile phones screen. The re-design of the site supports HTTP Live Streaming so you stream sporting events onto your mobile using a 3G or Wi-Fi signal.

It’s not just the Euro 2012 games as the BBC plans to offer other sporting events for on demand viewing on your mobile including Wimbledon, the Open Golf, F1 and the Olympics.

The service is compatible with iOS 5 devices and Android 2.2 OS and above mobile phones and tablets.

Would you use this service? Do you think you would enjoy watching sporting events on your smartphone?
