The slightly curved chassis is made of metal and the screen has been bumped up to a 4.7-inch display.

The display is the latest Retina HD offering from Apple and promises brilliant colors, wider viewing angles and higher contrast giving a stunning effect.

The iPhone 6 processor, the new A8 chip, has been designed for more power and even more increased efficiency even with the larger screen. The M8 coprocessor handles data from the sensors like the new barometer and these two chips give an even better battery life on the new iPhone.

The iSight camera has been enhanced to support Focus Pixels and includes new video features with slow-mo at 240fps and time-lapse video mode.

Touch ID fingerprint recognition has been carried over from the iPhone 5 and now includes the ability to use your fingerprint to complete purchases at the iStore.

iOS 8 is on board and it has been enhanced to make the most of the bigger display.

The overall look of the iPhone 6 is fantastic and the camera, new iOS 8 and powerful processor make this a great 4G smartphone.

iPhone 6 Plus features

Apple has finally delivered a phablet in the form of the iPhone 6 Plus giving the handset a 5.5-inch HD Retina display.

Many of the specifications are the same as the smaller model but the iPhone 6 Plus supports landscape app mode for apps such as mail, calendar and messages.

Apple has also now ventured into wearable tech with the AppleWatch, a watch that will link with your iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (or your iPhone 5 if you download iOS 8).

The display has a customisable homescreen and will display notifications as well as allowing you to reply to messages.

Apple will offer two models of the watch and there will be a number of interchangeable straps available so it can be personalised in numerous ways.

Release Date

The Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be available on pre-order from 12th September with handsets being released on the 19th.

The AppleWatch will be delayed until 2015 so fans will to wait for that.
