Apple to Pay Nokia a Load of Cash

Apple and Nokia have buried the hatchet in a long running patent law suit, with Apple agreeing to pay Nokia a one off lump sum and ongoing royalty payments in exchange for using technology patented by Nokia.

Analysts have been guessing what the figures are, and one fairly well informed guess put the figures at a lump sum of $608 and quarterly payments of $138. That should help cover the gap while Nokia rolls out Windows Phone, but it’s a mixed victory as it coincides with the first time that Apple has outsold Nokia in the US.
