Android Event on October 29th Announced By Google

Google has sent out invites to a press event in New York on October 29th and it is expected that this Android event could see the launch of the much leaked next generation Nexus phone.

The LG Nexus 4 has popped up on the radar a few times so it’s highly likely that Google will be showcasing this phone at the event. There has been quite a bit of speculation of a range of Nexus phones with Google supposedly using various manufacturers to produce the Nexus range.

So we could see a whole host of Nexus phones from Google including the Nexus 5 phone/tablet that is reportedly being produced by HTC. This is a break from the usual tactics from the makers of Android as they have previously only launched one Nexus handset each time; a range of phone would give them wider appeal so this move could be a good one for them. With competitors like Samsung producing a full range of phones to complement their flagship Galaxy SIII it’s likely Google hope a range of phones will deliver the same success.

It is also expected that a range of Nexus tablets will be launched with both a 7 and 10-inch version heading our way. News on the latest updates on the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS is also likely to be on the agenda but whether we will get a glimpse of the next Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) OS is not clear.

The event kicks off at 3pm UK time on the 29th and we will bring you the latest news as it is announced, if you want to watch the action as it happens the event will be streamed live on the Android YouTube channel.
