The Alcatel OneTouch Idol Alpha is a premium smartphone at a more reasonable price and has many of the elements we love such as a metallic body, IPS display and powerful camera. Today we are going to take a look at the pre-installed Alcatel OneTouch Idol Alpha apps along with loads of full size screenshots.
My Tracks app
The My Tracks app is your inspiration to get walking, running, biking or travelling as GPS is used to monitor your route and record it for sharing or viewing later on. Certain stats are recorded such as speed, elevation, total distance, total time, average speed and maximum speed so there is enough here to use the app as a fitness tool.
Hotspot app
The Hotspot app is a great way to get your computer or laptop online where you only have a mobile phone signal. You can tether the device in several ways and these include via a USB cable, via Bluetooth or via Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi Transfer app
The Wi-Fi Transfer app allows your to share your files easily with friends or family. You simply tap on the button to create a Wi-Fi group and the second smartphone joins that group to enable sharing. Once connected you may share photos, videos, pictures and music.
Flipboard app
Dropbox app
Dropbox is one app that I have set up on every device that I own. Dropbox is a Cloud service where you can save your files and photos securely online. This is useful simply as a place to backup your files but the real functionality comes in having any document or spreadsheet accessible and up to date on all of your devices.
Photos app
The Photos app is the place to backup and edit your photos and you get a series of tools to help you enhance your captured moments. You can either auto-awesome everything or control the finer details with crop, rotate, styles, tune and a whole host of filters.
Compass app
The compass app is just what you would expect with the added benefit of either using magnetic north or true north. Turn on GPS and you can see your latitude and longitude on a clean looking compass face that is easy to read should you pastime be hiking.
Barcode Scanner app
The barcode scanner app lets you scan any barcode and retrieve information about from over the internet in one click. Once the barcode has been scanned simply tap one of the onscreen buttons for product search, web search or shopper information.
Weather app
The weather app is powered by AccuWeather and I personally think that the weather report screen is one of the nicest designs I have ever seen. The Weather app shows your location, temperature, ReelFeel temperature and upcoming forecast.
ToDo app
The ToDo app really has many uses from creating lists to simply taking notes for future reference (There is also a Notes app pre-installed on the Idol Alpha). The best part though it that entering information is extremely easy using voice input but if you like the old fashioned way then you get a keyboard that uses word prediction to help you along.
File Manager app
The File Manager app delivers a PC like experience when managing your files giving you the option to cut, copy, paste and delete your files which are held in traditional folders.
Sound Recorder app
The Sound Recorder app is a simple record and play set up and can be used for recording conversations, thoughts or maybe your very own jamming session!
World Clock app
This simple app is certainly useful for professionals that deal with foreign companies or personal users who have friends or family living abroad. Within the app you can add multiple clocks and see them all on one page.
Calender app
The Calender app is a great organiser and you can quickly add events with reminders. You can switch between several views from a day to a month view and professionals will find the agenda view extremely handy.
Alpha Idol apps
There are many more apps pre-installed for you to discover and these include your typical social networking apps, Google apps that come with the Android OS, media apps and games. Intrigued?
