ZTE Kis 3 – Cheap Christmas Pay as you Go!

The ZTE Kis 3 could be the cheap pay as you go Christmas present of choice this year and this mini-sized smartphone is as cheap as chips at under £40.

Your not going to get lightening fast processing power or a high-end camera for this money but with an Android operating system on board this is a nice little stocking filling.

ZTE Kis 3 design

The ZTE Kis 3 design includes a bright 4-inch IPS display that has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels which equates to 233 pixels per inch and this gives you a good visual experience for your Buck!

The deep blue soft feel cover makes the Kis 3 feel nice to hold and it is extremely lightweight at only 120 grams with a waistline that is 11mm thick. Inside we find a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 512MB memory that can be expanded with a 32GB MicroSD card if you choose and a 1,400mAh battery that delivers a standby time of up to 250 hours.

ZTE Kis 3 features

You get full internet access on the ZTE Kis 3 over either 3G or Wi-Fi for when you are at home or near a hotspot. This means that as a gift your present could be used straight out of the box on a home Wi-Fi connection for free.

The best news about this whole smartphone is that it runs on the popular Android KitKat v4.4 operating system. Created by Google, this OS is easy, fun and interactive and you get a great set of apps to get you going. After exploring the phone you can visit Google Play where both free and paid apps and content can be downloaded.

There are some practical aspects to the ZTE Kis 3 as well with GPS that could be used for on-foot turn-by-turn navigation by younger users and of course they could also use it to share their location with friends. In addition to GPS there is Bluetooth for wireless accessory connections, a FM radio for music and a media player for watching videos.

ZTE Kis 3 camera

The 3.15 megapixel camera isn’t bad at all for the price and images can be geo-tagged with their location. Video recording at 480p definition is also good for the price and you can use the photo viewer and editor to add those final tweaks.

There is no forward facing camera for making video calls which is a shame but you can still use services like Skype for text chat and VoIP voice calls over an internet connection, so it isn’t all bad news here.

ZTE Kis 3 verdict

My overall opinion must reflect the price tag of under £40 and when this is considered then it is impossible to describe the ZTE Kis 3 as anything else than superb.

If you have young children or friends or know an elderly person looking for the peace of mind that having a mobile phone brings, then this really is a good 2015 Christmas gift.
