The Sony Xperia Z4 has been the subject of much speculation and rumours even though Sony tried to keep the smartphone details under wraps. Now the manufacturer has decided to lay it all out there by officially announcing the Z4 in Japan, the event has given us all the details on the phone but no clue as to when we might expect it here in the UK. The Sony Xperia Z4 will be packing a 5.2-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 so you can expect a fantastic graphics and gaming performance. The display will include Triluminos technology as well as the X-Reality Engine making for stunning visuals. The Xperia series design is continued on this phone with a sleek aluminium frame and a glass body that measures just 6.9mm.
As this is an Xperia handset you get superior protection on the phone with the chassis being rated at Waterproof IPX5/8 for IPX6 dust proof rating so you can be assured no pesky dust or moisture will get in there to hamper performance or phone life.

Sony has made sure that the Xperia Z4 camera is high-end too with a 20.7-megapixel lens that is packing 1/2.3″ sensor, touch focus, HDR and Panorama shot. Video can be recorded at 2160p at 30fps for fantastic HD quality and the video capture can be adjusted to 1080p at 30fps and 720p at 120fps.
The front facing camera has a resolution of 5-megapixels so selfie fans can get a decent shot and there are plenty of editing options and filters to create the final look.
Sony Xperia Z4 release date
The official launch in Japan gives us an early summer release date for the Japanese market however there was no mention of the rest of the world so we will just have to see how long we wait for this to land here in the UK.
