Sony has today announced another new handset to add to their smartphone range in the form of the Xperia Sola. The new addition to the lineup is a more basic version of the Xperia S without the nifty clear LED band design on the bottom.
Specs wise the phone will have a 3.7-inch LCD display, dual-core processor, NFC technology and a 5-megapixel camera. The phone continues Xperia range tradition with NFC SmartTags compatibility and the Mobile BRAVIA Engine as well as the xLOUD surround sound feature.
So this phone may not blow away the Xperia S when you compare the hardware but one thing the Xperia Sola has that is unique is “floating touch” navigation, so no need to touch the screen when web browsing simply wave your fingers above the screen to scroll around. This is a nice little feature and if it works well it’s bound to make this phone appeal to gadget lovers wanting a nifty feature to show off to their friends.
How well the new navigation will work will have to be seen when the Xperia Sola is released in the next few months, keep checking our blog for the latest news on this and many more new handsets coming your way.
