Samsung S5690 Xcover

The S5690 Xcover is the latest handset by Samsung featuring the new OS from Android, Gingerbread v2.3. A 3.65 inch capacitive touchscreen combined with an encased waterproof design to a depth of 1 metre for a max of 30 minutes immersed.

The handset is designed for active users as the material used is engineered to withstand and protect it from wear and tear, dirt and water damage. The screen is made from a strong anti-scratch tempered glass which is five times tougher than regular glass for extra protection.

One feature that stands out in regards to the S5690 is the social hub. Users have to ability to access their social networking from a single destination rather than individual applications. That means accessing e-mails, text messages, voicemail and SNS can be accessed directly.

The Samsung S5690’s connectivity is enabled by HSDPA 7.2/ HSUPA 5.76, Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth v3.0, providing users with constant connection with others.

A 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash and Geo-tagging with video comes with the handset.

The Samsung S5690 is due for release in October 2011. It will be worth having a closer look at the phone once it comes out.
