During Samsung’s IFA press conference everyone was eagerly awaiting the news of their latest offerings and it wasn’t just the Galaxy Note II that they had up their sleeves.
Samsung are the first manufacturer to confirm a Windows Phone 8 OS handset and their smartphone will be called the ATIV S. The first Windows Phone 8 smartphone has a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 2 for extra tough scratch resistance.
Under the hood the ATIV S is packing a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM whilst on the back there is an 8-megapixel snapper. Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and NFC are included as well as a 1.9-meggapixel front facing camera for video calling and there is a microSD card for memory expansion.
Samsung didn’t confirm availability but we should expect to see it after the official release of Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft later this year.
