Samsung Galaxy J6+ review

Samsung continues to boost their smartphone offering with devices to suit any budget. In my Samsung Galaxy J6+ review, I take a look at a more affordable phone with great features.

Samsung Galaxy J6+ design

Samsung has made this budget phone feel high-end with a glass construction and thin bezels around the fantastic display. The 6-inch screen is an HD+ Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The colour quality and longer aspect ratio make this phone superb for watching movies or gaming.

The Samsung Galaxy J6+ is available in Black, Grey, Blue or Red and weighing in at just 178g the phone is lightweight.

Samsung Galaxy J6+ Features

Although this phone is considered a budget smartphone you still get some of the features you only tend to see on more expensive devices. The Galaxy J6+ has face recognition and a side fingerprint sensor for advanced device security.

The Samsung Galaxy J6+ comes with a 32GB memory and if you need more space you can add a microSD card of up to 512GB. Android Oreo is on board so you get a whole host of Google apps including Chrome, YouTube and Maps. Samsung also adds a few of their own features including S Health for fitness goals and step counting.

Dolby Atmos sound makes music and other audio sounds superb and you can enjoy split-screen multitasking and much more with this affordable phone.

There is a 3,300mAh battery which is a boost compared to the previous model. The phone includes Power Saving Mode which will manage the power consumption to give you as much use as possible so you can get to a charger.

Samsung Galaxy J6+ Camera

The camera package on this phone is a real treat for the price. You get a dual camera with a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel lens. This means you can capture bokeh effects in real time or change the depth of field when editing the shot. You can even change the shape of a background blur effect into such shapes as hearts for unique photos.

The front camera is an 8-megapixel lens for superb selfies and you can use the Emotify feature to create an avatar of yourself for use in chats.

Verdict:

The overall quality of this phone is excellent for the affordable price. Samsung has added a few premium features that make the phone feel much more high-end. This phone is perfect for anyone that wants a quality dual camera phone but doesn’t want to pay flagship price.
