When the Sony Xperia S was announced it was promised that the PlayStation Store could be accessed via the phone, however when the handset was released this feature wasn’t ready but there is a placeholder link on there to show it was on its way.
Now Sony has finished putting the final touches to the app and Xperia S users can click on the placeholder link to load the webpage where the PlayStation Store and PS Pocket app can be downloaded. There are currently around 12 titles available to play although some of them are listed as Xperia Play games rather than Xperia S ones, but now it’s up and running you can expect to see a whole host of classics, favourites and new titles added in coming months.
To download the apps you will first need to go to Settings-Applications and then run the “Let’s start PS store” from the app tray. You will also need to create a PlayStation Network or Sony Entertainment Network account if you don’t already have one.
Sony has said that all of their 2012 phones will come with PS certification so we should expect to see a good range of titles added to the PS Store that will be playable on the phone lineup.
