OnePlus 6T smartphone review

The latest release from OnePlus will launch on November 10th and in my OnePlus 6T review I see what features this new smartphone will bring.

OnePlus 6T design

The big 6.41-inch display is the focal point of this smartphone as it takes up the whole fromt of the device. The phone has an 86% screen to body ratio so you are immersed into the screen for entertainment. The phone is slim at 8.2mm and weighs in at 185g.

The body is water and dust resistant and the phone is available in Midnight Black or Mirror Black.

OnePlus 6T features

The phone includes a Qualcomm 845 2.8GHz processor and up to 8B RAM which makes for an amazing performance for gaming or other demanding apps.

Security options include Face Unlock and there is also a fingerprint sensor built into the display, rather than the traditional sensor on the back found on other phones.

Android 9 works with the OxygenOS to give you a superb overall experience. Features include:

  • Gaming mode
  • Display mode options such as Reading Mode and Night Mode
  • Fast app startup
  • Gesture controls

There are lots of Google apps on board including Google Assistant which can be used to complete different tasks using voice commands.

The OnePlus 6T has a 3,700mAh battery which is enough to get you through a day of mixed use. Fast charge gives you a further days power after just 30 minutes of charging time.

OnePlus 6T camera

OnePlus has gone with a dual lens module on the 6T with a 16-megapixel and a 20-megapixel camera on the back. The two lenses combine images for Optical Image Stabilisation and amazing Night Mode shots.

AI scene detection can recognise different types of landscapes and will adjust the settings to make sure you get a great shot.

The camera includes Studio Lighting which will add dramatic lighting effects from different angles for professional looking photos.

The OnePlus 6T offers 4K video recording and slow-motion capture at a lower resolution. The Video Editor is easy to use and allows you to crop, loop and reverse sections of videos as well as add in slow motion bits.

The front facing camera is a decent 16-megapixel lens and includes Smile Capture, Screen Flash and Portrait Mode.

Verdict:

The OnePlus 6T gives you lots of flagship features at a lower price than other equivalent models. The fantastic display and responsiveness of this phone make it perfect for work or personal use. The dual camera and high resolution selfie camera will appeal to those that love taking snaps on their mobiles too.
