You may think that all microSD cards are the same and while this was once true, it is no longer the case today. The latest microSD cards are starting to appear on the market and these will make a big difference to the perceived performance of your Android apps.
The first such card to the market is the SanDisk Ultra microSD UHS-I and crucially this is rated A1. This signifies that apps saved on the microSD card launch faster and have a faster performance than ever before.

The SD Association has created two new classifications for microSD cards, making it easy for consumers to identify the key performance parameters. Memory cards that do not offer the improved app performance are rated A2, while cards that do offer the speed boost are rated A1.
The new SanDisk Ultra microSD UHS-I has 256GB of storage, essentially meaning that you will never need to worry about what to delete, to free up memory, again. Rated class 10 for Full HD video recording (1920 x 1080 pixels) performance, the card can store up to 24 hours of Full HD video.
The card is waterproof, shockproof, temperature proof and X-ray proof. Compatible with Android smartphones and tablets, as well as interchangeable-lens cameras, the UHS-I offers 95MB/S transfer speeds, equating to 1200 photos in one minute. This is based on 4.1GB total with an average photo file size of 3.5MB.
The SanDisk Memory Zone app is available for free on Google Play and this enables easy file management, allowing you to view, access and back up your files in one locations. You can also use the SanDisk Memory Zone app to transfer files from your Android device to the memory card, in order to free up space.
The SanDisk Ultra microSD UHS-I comes with a SD adapter for using the card with SD compatible devices, such as computers, laptops and digital cameras.
So, if you are looking for a new memory card and want the best performance on the market, then look out for the A1 rating.
