New 10.5 inch iPad Pro announced

New 10.5 inch iPad Pro announced

Apple has announced an all new 10.5” iPad Pro, which will go on sale next week. The new iPad Pro features the world’s most advanced display with ProMotion tech and a new A10X Fusion processor.

This iPad will also have reduced borders of almost 40%, making this iPad more compact.

ProMotion display

The ProMotion display has refresh rates of up to 120Hz, making scrolling more fluid, smoother and responsive. Reduced power consumption and improved display quality is achieved by adjusting the refresh rates, according to the movement of the onscreen content.

ProMotion will be Apple’s brightest display with True Tone white balance and an anti-reflective coating. The new iPad Pro experience can be further enhanced by purchasing the Apple Pencil and this gets a deeper integration and improved performance with only 20-millisecond latency.

A10X Fusion processor

The new A10X Fusion processor is faster than those in most laptops. The configuration includes a six-core CPU and 12-core GPU.

The new chip gives the iPad Pro 30 percent faster processing and 40 percent faster graphics performance, when compared to the A9X processor.

Photography

The 10.5-inch iPad Pro has the same 12MP camera and 7MP FaceTime HD camera, as that used on the Apple iPhone 7. A four speakers audio system creates a more immersive experience with stereo sound projected in any orientation.

iOS 11

The all new iPad Pro will get an update to iOS 11 in Autumn and you can read the iOS 11 announcement here.

In addition to the features discussed in the iOS 11 announcement, the iPad Pro will get a few additions of its own. These include a new files app, customisable Dock, improved multitasking with a new app switcher and a document scanner in Notes.

The iPad Pro 10.5” will go on sale in the UK at around £500 for the Wi-Fi model and at around £600 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
