Motorola has officially announced two new handsets to be heading our way this year, the MOTOLUXE and the DEFY MINI. These two handsets will sit in the mid-range of current smartphones and will be running Android 2.3.
The MOTOLUXE has been available in China for a while, as the XT615, and features a 4-inch LCD touchscreen and 800MHz processor. This isn’t the most powerful processor out there but it should have enough oomph to handle tasks and run apps without too many hiccups. HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth give a good connectivity range and there is 512MB of internal memory.
The camera has a resolution of 8-megapixels and DivX support is on board as well as a microUSB and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The MOTOLUXE is expected to hit our shores next month but no pricing has been confirmed yet.
The second handset in Motorola’s announcement is the DEFY MINI and this is the compact version of the rugged Motorola DEFY. This little tough cookie has a 3.2-inch touchscreen with Gorilla glass protection and is water and dust resistant. The handset is dual-band with 3G. HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and a modest 3-megapixel camera and VGA front facing camera.
The MINI DEFY is also expected to come our way in February so keep watching for news of its arrival.
