iPhone SE Design

The iPhone SE design is the same as sported by the iPhone 5S so you get a metal body, compact dimensions and a Touch ID sensor built into the physical home key.

The phone weighs in at 113g and sees the headphone jack, speaker and Lightning port all placed on the bottom edge of the handset and a flush camera lens.

The iPhone SE will be released in the familiar colour scheme of silver, gold, rose gold and space grey with variants offering 16GB or 64GB memory capacity.

iPhone SE Features

The display on the iPhone SE is a 4-inch Retina screen that delivers a resolution of 1136 x 640 which is the same as the iPhone 5S, the phone this is replacing.

The impressive A9 chip and M9 Motion processors that are featured in the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are included in the iPhone SE making it a powerful 4-inch smartphone.

The latest iOS 9.3 operating system is on board giving you the very latest OS from Apple which includes improved updates for Notes, News, Music and introduces a new Night Shift feature. This will switch the screen to a warmer display colour in the evening which is said to reduce eye strain and make it easier to drift off to sleep if you are using the screen before you drift off.

NFC is on board so you can use the iPhone SE with Apple Pay for contactless payments and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor adds security to your mobile information and Apple account.

iPhone SE Camera

The iPhone SE is sporting the rear camera setup as the current top phones, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, with a 12-megapixel iSight camera with Live Photos and 4k video capture.

The selfie camera is a step down on this model at only 1.2-megapixels although as this is a more affordable smartphone we had to see some compromises somewhere.

iPhone SE Release date

Pre-orders for the iPhone SE begin on March 24th with the phone being sold on March 31st so if you want one, get your name down as soon as possible to ensure you are one of the first to get your hands on the iPhone SE.
