HTC Desire 820 features

Today we take a look at the HTC Desire 820 features on Mobilesplease.co.uk.

HTC Desire 820 design

The HTC Desire 820 design moves on for 2015 with a new look that is simple, modern and balanced. In each colour variation a base colour is accentuated by a second colour around the camera lens, flash and volume buttons. The same colour is also used as a trim around the front face and for the HTC logo.

It is extremely noticeable that the large 5.5 inch display fills more of the front face leaving just enough space for a line of 8 holes at the top and bottom, from which the sound is projected using BoomSound speakers with built in amps.

The 720 x 1280 pixel resolution of the screen provides all of the definition that you will need and with an eight core processor everything runs smoothly. The display is protected behind Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which means it is almost impossible to either scratch or break.

HTC Desire 820 camera

A balanced camera package has been put together for the HTC Desire 820 where high resolution fights with camera features for the spotlight. The main camera is 13 megapixels and the forward facing camera is 8 megapixels so you should be able to capture selfies at a resolution that will be the envy of your friends.

You can launch the camera with a quick snap gesture and you are immediately greeted by the viewfinder. From here you can shoot straight away or discover a variety of shooting modes and filters.

Photo Booth

The most fun of these include Face Fusion, Live Makeup and Phone Booth where a succession of photos are taken to create one final collage.

To ensure great selfie results the Desire 820’s shutter can be activated via voice commands. You can also make use of both cameras with the Crop Me In feature. Here the selfie camera takes your image and places it into the scenery as seen by the main camera.

HTC Desire 820 features

The combination of the HTC Sense 6 User Interface and Android KitKat v4.4 operating system puts in front of you the best from HTC and Google. On Google’s side you get access to Google Play for new app downloads as well as quick access to Google services like Search and Gmail.

On HTC’s side you get HTC BlinkFeed for news, sports and social network updates right on your home screen. You also get a redesigned app tray, music app and HTC Sense TV as well as more control over the Do Not Disturb feature.

Internet access is via Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G whilst you can connect to wireless accessories using Bluetooth or navigate with GPS. Windows Media Audio and Video Player 9 is pre-installed and the user accessible part of the internal memory is 11GB.

If more storage is need then you can either use a Cloud service like Dropbox or Google Drive or insert a memory card with a value of up to 128GB. The sub 8mm thick design houses a 2600mAh battery and this should, under most circumstances, provide a days use under a mixed usage scenario.

HTC Desire 820 Verdict

The HTC Desire 820 really does seem to offer great value for money. It can be purchased for far less than other smartphone brands whose phones only have half of the spec. So, if you aren’t a Samsung or Apple fan then the HTC Desire 820 could be the alternative for you.
