BlackBerry may have had some rough times over the last few years and the decision taken by Facebook to not support the BlackBerry 10 and OS platforms was another heavy blow. Now it looks like Facebook will return to BlackBerry through the web app to replace the native app that will no longer be available.
Slightly different Facebook experience on BlackBerry
BlackBerry fans will be pleased to hear the news from the manufacturer that Facebook will still be available on their handsets although, as they write on their blog, “the experience will be slightly different”.
The main thing is that the BB native Facebook app is still going to come to an end but the manufacturer has been working with the social network to improve the web-based BlackBerry Facebook app to work with even better functionality on BlackBerry 10 and BB OS.
New BlackBerry Facebook Features
The latest update to the web-based Facebook app has been launched ahead of the native app being discontinued and it looks like users will get lots of new features.
The latest update delivers a fix to the news feed bug along with the ability to reply to comments and all of the features seen on a desktop added to the BB Facebook web-based app.
The new update is already available so if you have a BlackBerry phone and want the latest features you will need to run an update to get them.
This latest update will please BlackBerry users and see the web-app move much closer to the experience offered on other platforms which can only be a plus for the manufacturers reputation.
