Facebook News Feed Redesign on the way

Facebook is one of the most recognised brands in the world, and has just been named the most-loved brand in the world, and now that familiarity is about to change. The redesign of the Facebook Newsweek is coming our way and here we take a look at what’s going to change.

Facebook design update

The announcement of the Facebook revamp has given us some details on what to expect from the re-design with a new look to conversations and profile pics.

The comments and conversations on Facebook posts are changing from rectangular fields to look more like the curved bubbles used in Messenger.

The News Feed is getting a cleaner look to improve readability with higher contrast, bigger text on the interaction buttons and previews of links previews are getting bigger.

The links placed in Facebook posts are also getting a tweak to show where the link goes, so you can see what will open up before actually clicking on the link – helpful when looking to avoid click bait.

Facebook changes

Another change will be the format of profile pictures with the standard square thumbnail and larger image being changed to a circular shape. This is something similar to an Instagram change that happened last year so perhaps it was inevitable for Facebook to head this way too.

When will the Facebook design change?

The new look for Facebook is expected to roll out over the next few weeks, Facebook is quick to assure users it won’t affect a page’s traffic or reach and users will not experience any inconvenience.
