The Spiro Walkman Phone Goes Pink.

It’s always exciting when a new look hits the market and with the introduction of the Spiro in pink from Sony Ericsson we see a new youthful look tailored specifically for the feminine side of the market. This new colour scheme brings a highlighted pink trim to the central Walkman control button, a pink logo and pink keys that are only revealed when the slider-keypad is opened.

Feature wise, the Spiro is a master of sound coming from the Walkman range and also offers social network integration with dedicated Facebook and Twitter applications. Communication wise the Spiro handles SMS, MMS, email and instant messaging and when you are on a night out the 2-megapixel-camera/video recorder will allow you to capture the action.

The Sony Ericsson Spiro in pink makes a great gift at only £40 on pay-as-you-go with Vodafone or an indulgent treat for the fashion conscious.

PSP phone for xmas?

It sounds like gamers are in for a real treat later this year as rumours surface of a Sony Ericsson and Google collaboration that will produce the PSP Phone. The handset is set to be on offer in a landscape slider form that incorporates the Playstation gaming buttons with the L&R buttons on the top left and right of the handsets shell.

Android v3.0 is expected to run the handset and will offer access to the Android Marketplace where popular gaming titles are expected to be available for download. On the phone side things the display should measure 3.7-inches or more and a 5-megapixel camera may also be on hand. The 1GHz processor should keep things moving without a hitch so this has to be one of the most exciting prospects of the year.

The month of October has been pencilled in but this may be a bit of a stretch, so maybe this one will be topping the charts in the most wanted Christmas gift list. Keep your eye on our Blog and we will keep you updated as the details and launch become official.

Which camera phone?

One of the most desired features of todays handsets is the inclusion of a camera and with the latest technological advancements on offer our range of high-end smartphones can out perform dedicated camera devices. Here are three of our most popular camera phones that have wiped out the need to carry two devices:

The Sony Ericsson Satio is simply perfect with a 12.1-megapixel camera that reproduces images onto its 3.5-inch display (360×640 pixels) that has a palette of over 16 million colours to bring your images to life. Tools at hand to enhance your images include Xenon flash, red eye reduction, image stabilisation, touch focus and smile/face detection. A TV-out socket allows your captured moments to be shared easily and with video calling and video capture at 30fps the Satio is most definitely top dog.

The Nokia N86 has an 8-megapixel camera with auto focus and dual LED flash, all of which are compressed into a compact, neat and tidy slider form. What makes this handset special is the wide 28mm Carl Zeiss lens and AMOLED display, superb for flicking through your list of captured pictures. VGA video calling is on offer along with video capture at 30fps.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 again has an 8-megapixel camera and boasts a huge 4-inch scratch resistant display (480×854 pixels). Built-in YouTube, Facebook and Twitter applications provide an excellent platform for sharing images and you can be confident of great results with image stabilisation, touch focus and face/smile detection.

Sony Ericsson release a new Walkman Phone

Sony Ericsson are recycling their X10 Mini and giving it a little musical facelift! The Walkman stamp has been put on the brand new Yendo to keep Sony Ericsson in the music phone market.

It may look a lot like the X10 Mini but unfortunately the Yendo is not running on Android putting it at the lower end of the market, this was where Sony Ericsson wanted to place its Walkman phones so no surprises there.

The Yendo may be an affordable handset but don’t be fooled as it still has the same QVGA touch screen as the X10 mini and it also boasts the four-corner user interface used on the X10 mini and the new X8. Of course the music player is great with full touch controls, TrackID, MediaGo to manage your music from a computer and a 3.5mm audio jack allowing you to use your favourite headphones with the phone. The lightweight (81g) device also features a 2 megapixel camera and social networking integration.

We really love this cute and cheap phone, it even fulfils our desire for a pink phone as it will be available in a number of colours (including pink!) in the next few months.

Sony Ericsson adds to their already superb line up.

Great for messaging the QWERTY keyboard allows users to type super fast messages and the 2.6 inch touchscreen displays the home screen perfectly which can easily be customised with a huge choice of applications from the Android marketplace.
