With most new mobiles offering app stores and the demand for making mobile phones fully customisable to the users needs, more and more apps are appearing and taking over the mobile world!

Currently Apple are the top dog’s with their App Store for the iPhone but Google’s Android Market store is trying it’s best to catch up with an estimated 30,000 apps.

Android fans don’t get too excited as there is still a pretty large gap of around 115,000 apps. The Android Market store has increased it’s apps from 10,000 to 30,000 in just 6 months so is expected to expand rapidly with the growth of the Android OS. The brand the Motorola Milestone is one of the many phones to host the Android OS. Super Bowl viewers got a glimpse of the Motorola Devour on Sunday night in the hands of one of the most frequently Googled hollywood stars – Megan Fox. The advert cost an estimated $2 to $3 Million Dollars but went out to around 100 million viewers and was pretty entertaining!

The Motorola Devour will be available in the next few months and with the MotoBlur OS on top of a number of high spec features it is set to be a phone a popular device. The Devour features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard under the 3.1 inch touchscreen.

The highly user friendly Motoblur changes the very look and feel of the device compared with other Motorola devices, adding live streams of information onto the home screen through a series of custom widgets. Social network status updates, e-mail, and other messaging tools are all integrated into the desktop with a unique graphical look not seen in the standard Android OS. Sony Ericsson are continuing to expand their environmentally friendly GreenHeart range with their third QWERTY, Windows Mobile device – the Aspen. Sony Ericsson has described the new phone as “the business mobile phone with green credentials at its core” and it is certainly that; with the same user interface as the Xperia X1 and X2 and recycled materials used throughout the package.

The 2.4 inch touchscreen phone has the full package of connectivity options including WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and a 3.5mm audio jack. The QWERTY keyboard allows for fast messaging and viewing and editing Microsoft Office files is a breeze with one touch operation. Great for a business user ‘with a conscience’; the Aspen has a power saving mode, E-manual and an Eco mate application. The GreenHeart Aspen is set to be an affordable business phone when it released in the second quarter of 2010.

The mighty iPhone has been sold to 100,000 customers in just over a week after the network Vodafone launched it. The popular phone is also available on Orange and Tesco after a 2 year exclusive deal with O2.

Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence said: “The demand from both consumer and business customers has been phenomenal. They want an outstanding phone on an outstanding network and we’re delivering that.”

Today Apple’s flagship handset has been make available on the Vodafone network, expanding it’s dominance on the UK phone market.

After two years of exclusivity on O2, Orange, Tesco and Vodafone now offer the super cool handset. Vodafone customers can receive free Vodafone to Vodafone calls and a range of competitive contracts. Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone UK commented: ‘We started preparing our network over a year ago so that iPhone customers will really feel the advantage of being with Vodafone.’

Being an Apple phone the handset doubles as a multimedia machine with a widescreen ipod which allows you to enjoy all your music, videos, pod casts and audio books plus transfer files directly from your pc via itunes. Other new features on the phone include a 3 mega pixel camera with built in auto focus, a compass, world wide weather updates and cut, copy and paste abilities.
