The latest addition to the Samsung smart phone range the i780 is sophisticated, sleek and made for business users. So many offers are availiable on mobiles these days, but the free Samsung i780 mobile is the real deal.
Following successors i450, i550 and the i600i the 3g enabled smart phone combines business features with high performance technology. Aiming to rival the blackberry mobile below screen keyboards the Samsung handset is much slimmer than the classic blackberry which is already a bonus.
With a professional shiny black finish the 2.6 large touch screen the i780 runs on Windows mobiles is larger and heavier than the i600 which is another of the expert’s smart phones.  This is down to the screen which is touch sensitive, has 65K colours and is one of the only devices that has a 320 X 320 screen resolution.  This handset has not been made cheaply with plastic materials with the back cover alone having a leathery texture to it.

The handset is 3G, EDGE, HSDPA, and GPRS capable plus it has a great 2 megapixel camera with 2X digital zoom, Wi-Fi and is powered by Windows mobile 6. The i780 has 3 input options: touch screen, the joystick and the QWERTY keyboard which is perfect for one hand texting you have a lot of choice when roaming around the handset.

Samsung E840

Glossy, glassy, sophisticated the Samsung E840 is ‘a mirror you can make calls with’ as Samsung’s  quote.

At only 10.6 mm this is for the vain in everyone, now we need to look in to the mirror and ask mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all? Well fairest in the mobile industry.

Now its not just a pretty face it with a fantastic multimedia centre crammed in to the tiny frame, with a large bright screen which is perfect for playing videos and browsing the web. Other Multi Media applications include the FM Radio, a music library to store all your favourite tunes and a video recorder.

The handset has a pretty decent camera as well at 2 Mega Pixels with 4 X Digital Zoom and with great mode such as Mosaicshot, Multishot, Night mode, Selfshot & Viewfinder Mode you’re guaranteed to get the a great picture - only down point is there is no flash. All applications are easy to access with the touch screen on the front but it may take a bit of getting used to as they are not as responsive as regular buttons.

Other neat extras include a document viewer that lets you load up Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files from your memory card to view them on the screen. The Memory card can hold up to 2GB which is great for working on the go, without a memory card there is only 70mb.

Downsides include no 3G ability and the battery life isn’t as good as other models with a stand by time of 360 hours compared to the Samsung Opus at 650 hours…

It’s a great looking handset and although the applications could be better, looks always come first!

Samsung Tocco f480

It’s hard to believe Nokia are now the only brand still making handsets with buttons…Is the latest touch screen technology needed or does it just complicate typing?

One of the main selling points of the Samsung Tocco F480 phone is the Widget application. These are tiny application that perform functions such as showing the time,or playing music.
With the Samsung Tocca you can place these wherever you want by simply dragging or dropping into the tool bar. This gives the handset a personal touch allowing you to change it accordingly.

With a card-like size it is very portable, and probably very easy to lose too.

Launching the smile shot function on the 5 mega pixel camera this handset boosts a fantastic picture for a minuet handset. Although with a memory of 223MB the phone is quite slow and struggles to do more than one task at a time.

With 3G internet the Tocco is great for surfing the internet with speed faster than most home broadbands. After testing this out I found it’s quite slow loading pages so not to sure about this 3G technology.

This phone has something for everyone with a great music player that stores thousands of songs plus it has a song tracking service called ‘Shazam’ which allows you to identify the song your listening to….if this is something you need to do.

With such great features there had to be some problems with the Tocco and there are. The handset has a habit of dropping calls for an unknown reason while the voice quality is sometimes poor.

Overall with such fantastic applications you could put up with the slowness, this phone is for you if you have style & patience.
