Motorola set to release the Flipout.

Motorola’s Flipout is the oddest looking Android handset to date, with a square touchscreen which flips out to reveal a five row QWERTY keyboard. Although it looks like the kind of social networking phone aimed at teenagers it is actually a very powerful smartphone device with a great user interface and superb range if features.

The 2.8 inch touchscreen displays Motorola’s MOTOBLUR service which can be customised with widgets to suit you and displays live updates from your friends on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter straight to your phone.

Being an Android smartphone means that the Flipout comes with a full range of Google apps including Maps, Gmail and Search and also has access to the Android Market to download a huge range of apps. The Flipout also includes a 3 megapixel camera which comes integrated with Kodak technology to capture more enhanced images, FM radio and digital compass as well as a decent web browser with Wi-Fi support.

Although it has an unusual shape which might take a bit of getting used to, the Flipout comes in an array of fab colours including Rebel Pink, Dark Sapphire, Fairway Green and Poppy Red and is sure to get people talking.

The Flipout is set to be released any time soon but if you simply can’t wait for an Android phone check out our smartphone section at www.mobilesplease.co.uk

Planet of the Apps.

Motorola MilestoneWith most new mobiles offering app stores and the demand for making mobile phones fully customisable to the users needs, more and more apps are appearing and taking over the mobile world!

Currently Apple are the top dog’s with their App Store for the iPhone but Google’s Android Market store is trying it’s best to catch up with an estimated 30,000 apps.

Android fans don’t get too excited as there is still a pretty large gap of around 115,000 apps. The Android Market store has increased it’s apps from 10,000 to 30,000 in just 6 months so is expected to expand rapidly with the growth of the Android OS. Android has changed the way mobile users work and with Google selling 60,000 smartphones a day the snowball effect is sure to take off.

The brand the Motorola Milestone is one of the many phones to host the Android OS. It is a great alternative to the iPhone, N900 or Google’s recent Nexus One and is the first smartphone to host the new Google Android 2.0 OS. Similar to the Motorola Droid, the Milestone has a fantastic 3.7 inch screen – perfect for viewing web pages and a slide out QWERTY keyboard which is ideal for messaging. The Milestone is not just a business phone, for those who want to stay entertained on the move there is a decent media player and handy 3.5mm audio jack as well as expandable memory up to 32GB. If you are interested in taking great photos on your favourite device then the Milestone has a great 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, dual LED flash, image stabilizer and impressive camera software.

A Foxy ad from Motorola hits the Super Bowl

Super Bowl viewers got a glimpse of the Motorola Devour on Sunday night in the hands of one of the most frequently Googled hollywood stars – Megan Fox. The advert cost an estimated $2 to $3 Million Dollars but went out to around 100 million viewers and was pretty entertaining!

The Motorola Devour will be available in the next few months and with the MotoBlur OS on top of a number of high spec features it is set to be a phone a popular device. The Devour features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard under the 3.1 inch touchscreen.

The highly user friendly Motoblur changes the very look and feel of the device compared with other Motorola devices, adding live streams of information onto the home screen through a series of custom widgets. Social network status updates, e-mail, and other messaging tools are all integrated into the desktop with a unique graphical look not seen in the standard Android OS. This feature is featured in the ad (below) with Fox to entertain all those Super Bowl fans.

The Future of Mobile Technology

Old vs New20 years ago brick-like phones such as the Motorola 8500x had no display and did no more than make calls. Who would have thought that mobile phones can now replace your camera, music player, organizer, TV and even your computer all in innovatively designed, pocket-sized handsets!

With smartphones dominating the market and new phone designs constantly emerging I want to look into what the future of mobile phones has in store.

It seems that mobiles that you can wear are going to be popular for the future with consumers relying on their mobile phones more frequently throughout the day. We have already seen Dyal’s sWaP phone which features a 1.3 mega pixel camera, mp3 and mp4 player and Bluetooth and have seen LG’s GD910 which supports 3G and includes video calling making it every sci-fi lover’s dream! Nokia also have some concepts of soft, bendable phones using nanotechnology, the 888 and the Morph which give the user a cool looking device that is very accessible. You can take a look at what the Nokia Morph has to offer by following this link.

If you are true Apple devotee and want the latest super cool handset from the Californian brand, the iPhone Nano looks like it will be coming soon. The Nano will be a slimmer, more basic phone that would offer EDGE network speeds but there is hope that we will see Wi-Fi N and wireless media synchronising and memory capacities ranging from 8GB to 16GB.

If you are more interested in the latest iPhone(the fantastic 3GS) then Mobilesplease has a great range of deals for you to choose from.

Motorola eco phones

Motorola have literally turned rubbish by creating a phone in which the body is made out of recycled water bottles. The normally sleek, modern design seen in the Motorola RAZR V8 and ROKR E8 has been transformed into a eco-friendly fighting machine.

The Motorola W233 hasn’t got a launch date for the UK just yet so we will be keeping our eyes peeled for this handset which Motorola claims is 100 % recyclable. Its the perfect way to do your bit for the environment plus its the very first handset of its kind! The phone giants are said to be releasing a tuff phone alike to the Samsung M110 protecting against all of the elements.

If your not into eco and are looking for a high tech, gadget filled phone we would highly recommend one of Motorola’s handsets. One of the most beautiful handsets around the ROKR E8 is a super stylish, feature filled and with amazing offers such as free laptops it is a must have. The original RAZR is a classic handset and the RAZR V8 is a fantastic upgrade with dual screens and a great music player.

Whether you go down the eco or gadget route Motorola produce some great handsets and at mobilesplease you can get a really good deal!

Motorola ROKR E8

Get ready to rock along with the latest music orientated handset from Motorola.  The experts claim with just ‘one touch’ you can change from music to talk, giving you the only functions you need.
Taking a basic approach this new handset is perfect if you have a busy lifestyle, using ModeShift technology it takes minimal effort to switch between the various applications.  When using the camera function it only shows camera buttons, when using the music player you can only access the music player buttons etc.
With crystal clear speakers this phone is more complex than its outer minimal shell; the Motorola ROKR E8 was built to revolutionise music technology… & yes it has a better memory than the original ROKR which only stored 100 songs. With a 2GB internal memory which can expand to 4GB with an additional memory card, this is still smaller than the Apple iPod nana. It can play back MP3, MIDI, AAC, WMA, WAV, AMR and RealAudio music formats plus its great for videos with a large landscape format. The ROKR E8 can also be used with a variety of wired and wireless headsets and speakers. There’s an FM radio too. You can really ROKR the night away with music application like this.
The 2 mega pixel camera is a bit of a let down with no flash or autofocus although this is not the phones priority. Other shortcomings include no Wi-Fi or 3g which would be handy when downloading tunes onto your musical phone.
If you’re looking for a great phone for playing and listening to music that you can dance along to the ROKR is for you!
