The Nokia X6 gets a new paintjob!

The popularity of the Nokia X6 keeps on growing with the introduction of this great phone in blue. Music is at the heart of the X6 and great sound quality is on offer through stereo speakers or your own headphones connected to the universal 3.5mm audio jack. In addition to the music/video player there is also a stereo FM radio with RDS.

The other area in which the Nokia X6 excels is in the camera department, Carl Zeiss optics give a quality feel to your pictures and auto-focus ensures blurry images are a thing of the past. The X6 also has the edge on its competition with a video recorder that captures images at 30 frames per second in either landscape or portrait views.

Nokia can’t be praised enough for the X6 as they have hit the nail on the head when it comes to offering users what they really want. The 8GB memory is very generous and the new blue colour scheme makes this one stand out in a crowd.

Top 5 Touchscreen Phones.

Touch Screen Phones are fast becoming the norm and with improved technology and a great range of user interfaces there is tough competition to produce a phone with the ultimate touch screen. We have compiled our top 5 touchscreen phones to guide you to your perfect touch screen phone.

Apple iPhone 3G S

Combining three amazing products in one, a stunning phone, a widescreen ipod and a ground breaking internet device the Apple iPhone took mobile phones to a new level.  Make calls simply by tapping the 3.5 inch capacitive touch interface and swipe and pinch your way through web pages with one of the most advanced web browsers on a mobile phone. The multi-touch screen features an accelerometer, a proximity sensor and is scratch resistant to keep your phone looking great.

HTC Desire

The iPhone may have been the first impressive touchscreen but the new kid on the block has certainly set a few tongues wagging. Similar in design to the Nexus One the Desire has a soft curved design and a fantastic 3.7 inch AMOLED display. The Desire has a fully customisable home screen using HTC widgets and the AMOLED screen definitely has the wow factor with crystal clear and bright graphics. The Desire also features an accelerometer, proximity sensor and scratch resistant coating to make it a truly desirable phone.

HTC Legend

The good looking one! Similar in design to the popular Hero, the HTC Legend is a sleek and stylish phone with HTC’s trademark chin. A fashionable alloy casing surrounds the super sharp 3.2 inch AMOLED touch screen which displays web pages and photos beautifully. The Legend fits comfortably in the hand and with the Sense user interface and multi-touch support it provides a fantastic user experience. The Legend may not be as high tech as the Desire but it certainly looks the part and is sure to make you stand out in a crowd.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Boasting an impressive 4 inch touchscreen with class-leading resolution the Xperia X10′s display is super sharp and vibrant making all the phones decent features shine. The Xperia X10 is a powerhouse smartphone with a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and a number of hot features including a standout 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash that is full of image enhancing features to take fantastic photos on your phone. The Xperia X10 is a great touchscreen device if you want to have fun on your mobile and the 4 inch screen is perfect for viewing movies and webpages wherever you are.

Samsung Tocco Lite

The Samsung Tocco Lite doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that the above phones have but it is one of the most popular touchscreen phones on the market so it must be doing something right.  The touch screen here is resistive not capacitive but some people prefer this as they can use a stylus instead of their finger making sure they don’t press the wrong thing. A pocket friendly device, the Tocco Lite provides a vivid bright screen which is fully touch sensitive and makes it easy to navigate around the many applications on this handset.

Mobiles Please compares touch screen phones from all the networks including Samsung, Nokia and HTC, from bargain phones to super smartphones, we have it all. To see our favourite selection of touch screen phones use our great comparison service.

The HTC Wildfire is being unleashed!

HTC have today announced a budget Android phone – the Wildfire. The name certainly sounds exciting and looking at the specs it looks set to be a very popular smartphone device. Similar to the super cool Desire, the Wildfire runs on the Android 2.1 operating system and boasts the Sense user interface under the easy to use capacitive touchscreen.

Being the Desires little sister means the spec sheet isn’t as high tech but it does boast a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a number of social networking applications and an optical trackpad for easy navigation around the phone. The Wildfire comes with 3G HSDPA support and Wi-Fi to browse the web from the 3.2 inch screen and also features a GPS receiver, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and 3.5mm audio jack.

HTC have had to make cuts somewhere to produce a budget phone which has unfortunately fallen on the QVGA display making Android a little bit less special (but what can you expect if you want a cheap Android device?).

The Wildfire will be available in four colours giving it more appeal for a younger market and should be available in Q3 this year. For all the best HTC phones, compare deals at Mobiles Please now.

Mobiles Please Guides

At Mobiles Please we understand that it can be hard to choose from hundreds of mobiles and thousands of deals to make sure you get the perfect handset to suit you. So here is our guide to finding the perfect tariff. If you follow a few simple steps you will definitely be able to choose the right option to let you enjoy your new phone to its fullest.

The first step is to assess what usage you will require for the various charging areas, calls, text, multimedia messaging and data / Internet. The most important rule is to pick the options that will cover your usage, it is a false economy to pick a low line rental to try and save money only to then be charged a high rate for your usage once your minutes / texts have been used up. Spending an extra £5 on the line rental to get the right deal for you can easily save you £20 a month.

How many free minutes do I need?

If you have been on a contract tariff before then take a look at your last bill. The bill will clearly show what line rental you were paying for, what minutes you had and if you were charged for lots of extra calls because you didn’t have enough free minutes. It is also worth checking if you had free minutes left over, as this could suggest that you may be able to reduce the number of free minutes you receive and then maybe use that saving in another area like texts or data.

New users to contract phones can use a simple exercise to work out their expected usage. If 1 call is made per day and lasts for 3 minutes then a tariff with 100 free minutes would be ideal.

How many free text messages do I need?

Here again, take a look at an old bill or multiply your daily usage to get a monthly figure. Lots of options are available with tariffs today, such as unlimited text messaging for free (fair usage policies will apply) or a bolt on that offer a certain amount free each month.

What about multimedia messaging, video calling, mobile TV and other data / Internet services?

If you want access to these cutting edge services you will find plenty of deals where usage is either included for free (fair usage polices will apply) or a bolt on is available.

Our overall message here is to take a few moments to assess what you need and you should be a happy and satisfied user for years to come.

The Mobiles Please Guides section will be available shortly for a full run down on all you need to know about mobile phones. Have a look at all our latest mobile phones to get a really great deal on the coolest phones on the market.

The Desire gets a new look.

HTC have now introduced the popular Desire in a black casing. This new look makes the Desire look ultra chic and stylish making it a truly ‘desirable’ phone.

The black Desire is currently only available on Orange from £25 a month with 400 minutes and unlimited texts as well as all the great Orange extras including Orange Wednesdays.

The Desire from HTC is one of the most advanced handsets on the market. Similar to Google’s Nexus One the Desire has a soft curved design and a fantastic 3.7 inch AMOLED display. There is an optical trackpad to navigate through the phones many features and with Android 2.1 sitting above a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU the Desire really does give you an incredible user experience. The Desire has a fully customisable home screen using HTC widgets including weather, photo album, music and messages. There is a 5 megapixel camera on board with autofocus and LED flash and with expandable memory up to 32GB there is plenty of storage for all your favourite music and photos. Users can browse the web with 3G connectivity and make sure they are always in the right place with GPS and Google Maps. The HTC Desire weighs 135g and measures 60 x 119 x 11.9mm, with it superb design and excellent user interface it is one excellent smart phone.

BlackBerry gets another Pearl.

BlackBerry manufacturers RIM have been pretty quiet over the past year or so but the next Pearl has now been announced to succeed the two year old 8110. The Pearl 3G as the name suggests now comes with 3G support as well as a number of improved features making the candy bar phone a great upgrade choice for BlackBerry fans.

First of all RIM have thankfully got rid of the trackball and replaced it with a small optical trackpad which is great news for those who are tired of using the dodgy trackball and want the phones main navigation feature to be more resilient.  The Pearl will come in two different variations; the 9100 with a SureType keyboard (half QWERTY) and the 9105 which has opted for a traditional keypad (probably to attract users that have not yet used a BlackBerry device). Both Pearls will feature dedicated media keys on the top of the handset to get quick and easy access to the phones music player.

Although the Pearl 3G is almost identical in size to the 8110, it is twice as fast with a 624MHz processor and comes with an increased battery life of up to 5.5 hours talk time. The screen is much improved with a 360 x 400 pixel resolution display giving a much clearer picture for all your messaging needs. The user interface has also been improved using the BlackBerry OS v5.0 making it a lot less cluttered and a lot more user friendly.

Other features of this promising device include a decent 3.2 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus, Bluetooth, GPS support, iTunes and Window Media Player support and upto 32GB of expandable memory.

RIM have said that the Pearl 3G should be available in May 2010 but as of yet there has been no guidance on pricing or networks. If you can’t wait to get your hands on a BlackBerry then Mobiles Please compares all the BlackBerry deals in the UK.
